This is not a book for the weak-hearted (just look at the front
cover) don't read it if you're under 18 - no, make that 21, because
the first few chapters of the book are very sexually graphic. But after
you've got past all the decadent stuff, the real story begins.
It's a roller-coaster of murders, lies and false truths which challenges Black and White relationships. The story covers three continents and begins in a hotel with Carol and Hans, who have a decadent relationship.
She is a prostitute and he is a very wealthy sports commentator. From London, we take a journey to the US where we meet Shango, a young intelligent, Nubian brother who meets a beautiful Nubian sister with a dark past.
As their relationship blossoms so do the problems the three of them have when they travel to Africa in search of the truth of the ankh.
The Maãt Mystery also contains quality information about Black history and I was pleasantly surprised to see that renowned authors such as Cheik A. Diop and George M. James had been referenced.
Spartacus has produced a first-class novel which takes you through boundaries of thought which we tend to ignore. A fantastic debut novel, look out for more stuff from Spartacus in the future.
