Mervyn Martin was a WARRIOR FOR JUSTICE for the Black (African) Community. Over the past twenty years, no other person has shown the courage and dedication of Mervyn Martin in campaigning for Justice against Injustice.

He was involved in many campaigns throughout the eighties and nineties including:

He provided the African (Black) Community with information about all the ongoing campaigns by distributing leaflets and other material all over London.

Mervyn was a true internationalist. He was actively involved in the campaign against apartheid in South Africa. He played a prominent role in the City of London Anti-Apartheid Group. He was also actively involved in campaigns against racial attacks against the Asian Community in East London.

The great Frantz Fanon said that 'each generation must discover its mission in life and either fulfil it or betray it. We consider that Mervyn Martin fulfilled his mission in life as a WARRIOR FOR JUSTICE. Mervyn was a proud, humble and dignified man. Like the legendary Amilcar Cabral said of himself, he was a simple African man doing his duty in the context of his time.

We urge the Black Community to come out in your numbers to remember and celebrate the life of Mervyn Martin.
