The Fox and the Hunt
(30 Dec. '95) #6

I recently overheard a conversation between two foxes. "Uncle Thomas! I can't believe it, you're alive," the little Fox said. "Of course I'm alive, Sonny," Uncle Thomas smiled.

I watched as they danced around singing excitedly in celebration of their good fortune. With curiosity, I enquired what they were so happy about. They explained that not only had Uncle Thomas just escaped from the hunt, injuring one of the Hounds in the process, he also managed to bring back a chicken leg as well. "You just have to know how to use the system." He said proudly.

It turned out that Uncle Tom was a 'special' something-or-other running with the pack - until they turned on him. He could not see what all the negative fuss was about when he originally took the job. Even though he was working directly against the interests of most Foxes, to him it was just a job. All he wanted was to do a good job and earn an "honest" wage. He often cited some famous, prominent and highly respected Foxes who would never have "made it" if they bucked the system. He condemned the local activists as a bunch of "useless trouble makers" who would just "end up dead or in jail", a prophesy which he and others like him helped to fulfil many times.

I could not understand how any Fox could go against his own kind and run with the Hounds for the benefit of the Hunters. I asked whether it was because they couldn't see that there was a war going on; that there is a difference between Fox and Hound and the way they are treated. Uncle Tom told me Some say there is war and most can see the differences but the smart ones realise that they can't beat the 'system' so they try to change it from the inside. "I know it's not perfect - yet - but the system works, it just needs a few small changes," he said.

That last comment reminded me of the same statements being made at some recent conferences featuring Johnny Cochran and Milton Grimes, the brilliant lawyers of O. J. Simpson and Rodney King, the Society of Black Lawyers, the National Black Caucus (for public sector employees) and the Black Police Associations from both sides of the Atlantic [UK and USA]. There were no speakers from the 'consumer' end of the legal industry, people like myself who had been wrongly prosecuted by the police over a dozen times - and won. Apart from these meetings being recruitment platforms for the police, the speakers called for more "Black" judges and more "minority" involvement in the 'service' end of the industry.

There are, however, more African (Black) police officers, more African judges, more African lawyers, more Africans on juries, more Africans in political office in both the United States and the United Kingdom than there has ever been. Yet, there are not less but more Africans in jail in both places than there have ever been. And though Africans number 10% of the US population, we are 80% of death row residents who are mainly political prisoners and POWs.

I asked Uncle Tom whether it was the same kind of experience for the Foxes in the Hunt, he mumbled something about "Increasing crime, drugs culture and Fox-on-Fox homicide" as if to justify his affirmative answer. Sonny butted in: "Its easier for a Fox to catch another Fox, so they use Foxes."

Which reminded me of people like Jackass How?, the Devil's slave, who is able to wound our community more deeply than any European (White) person by attacking fighters such as Leonard Jefferies and Betty Shabbaz (on his TV program).

A few Foxes will beat the hunt; some will be fattened for the system; more and more will be trained to run with the Hounds, but the hunt will always be against the interest of the Fox. The Fox cannot change the hunt for the benefit of the Fox - nor can the Hound. And when inevitably, the fighters win, because they have the power, they are the real power, they find that so much valuable resource had been wasted just defending, surviving and overcoming, that there is hardly anything to celebrate.

Just like the Fox and the Hunt, the Global Europe empire has to be totally destroyed on every level, in every way, by any means, before Global Africa can breath freely, and that we will do.
